Real life Mac Gyverisms and more.

This sucks.

Recently the small brush adapter for my vacuum cleaner snapped apart at it’s hinge.

At first i wanted to throw it away and search online for a new one. But then i thought “This might be a good opportunity to test if hot glue would do the trick.

I pressed the two pieces into place, added a generous amount of hot glue to the top and two finer lines of glue to the sides.

The result was awesome. I may have lost the ability to turn the brush horizontally, but the suction has increased significantly.

Here is a before and after of something covered in dust that says it all.

  1. Is the increased suction somehow related to the glue??

    • Well yes. You could turn the brush part.
And because of that you had of course gaps where air could flow through.

Glueing them shut allowed the air to flow only where it actually should past the bristles.
The only negative side effect is the increase of noise because of the airflow.
      But it doesn’t bother me.
